Raleigh’s ice rink scene serves a mix of suburban and near-city options for public skating, youth hockey, and lessons across the Triangle. This roundup ranks the five best ice skating rinks using a transparent, data-driven method: we compute a Bayesian-weighted score based on Google star averages and the number of reviews, then order the results accordingly. The list was updated for 2026 to reflect recent Google data and to help locals and visitors find reliable skating options. No single metric tells the whole story, so we pair the ranking with short descriptions and practical FAQs to help you pick the right rink for your plans.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose the right ice skating rink?
Consider what you want—public skate sessions, hockey, lessons or events—and check each rink’s schedule and session types. Also look at recent reviews for consistency, the facility’s location relative to you, and any age or skill-level notes posted by the rink.
What should I check before visiting a rink for the first time?
Confirm hours, session type (public skate vs. hockey practice), and whether skate rentals are available. It’s also wise to check reservation requirements, helmet or equipment rules, and any age or health advisories on the rink’s website or phone line.
How much does it typically cost to go ice skating?
Prices vary by rink and by session—public skate, lessons, and hockey sessions often have different rates. Expect a range depending on location and services; check the rink’s official site or call ahead for current admission and rental fees.
How was this ranking compiled?
We ranked rinks using Google review data, calculating a Bayesian-weighted score that balances each rink’s average star rating with its number of reviews. The list was updated for 2026 so the ordering reflects recent Google data rather than just raw averages.
