Frequently asked questions
How should I choose the right dog groomer for my pet?
Look for a groomer whose services match your dog’s size, breed and temperament, check recent reviews and photos, and confirm the staff’s experience with any special needs your dog has. A quick phone call or visit to assess cleanliness, handling practices, and communication style can also help you decide.
What does a typical grooming visit include?
Most full-service grooming visits include bathing, drying, brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming and a breed-appropriate haircut or trim if requested. Confirm exactly which services are included and whether extras like de-shedding or specialty treatments cost more.
What should I check before hiring a groomer?
Ask about vaccination requirements, how they handle anxious or reactive dogs, staff training, and emergency procedures. Also confirm pickup/drop-off logistics, time estimates, and whether they offer a trial visit or meet-and-greet.
How is this list of best groomers compiled?
The ranking is built from Google review data using a Bayesian-style approach that weights a business’s average rating by how many reviews it has; that helps balance high scores from a few reviews with consistent performance across more feedback. The list was updated for 2026 to reflect current Google ratings and review counts.
